Keep Our Children Connected to Their Roots. Did you know? Naive American children represent about 2% of the total child population in the U.S.. yet they account for nearly 4% of all children in foster care. Approximately 30% of Native American children in foster care are placed outside their tribal communities leading to disconnection from their culture identity. Why Foster /Kinship Care Matters: Cultural Connection: Kinship care helps maintain children’s ties to their heritage, language and traditions. Family Preservation: Placing children with relative helps keep families intact with about 25% of Native American children in foster care being raised by relatives. Safe Environment: Foster and kinship caregivers provide nurturing homes, ensuring the safety and well being of our youth. Contact the CDA Tribe Foster Care Program to learn how you can create a brighter future for our children! Call: 208-686-2027 or Text: 208-582-3369 Email: Jessica.Nanamkin@cdatribe-nsn.gov
